It has been said that you never forget a brilliant Teacher. This has always been the kind of teacher that I wanted to be. A teacher that has a pedagogy that raises attainment above textbooks. Raises achievement above passing exams.

I am an inspirational drama specialist, who enables students to achieve above and beyond what they have been told they will be. I promote a positive working environment for my students believing in a ‘can do anything’ approach. I have always been meticulous in my planning to understand and recognise students as individuals and plan each lesson accordingly. Behaviour management and structure have always been a strength of mine, ensuring constant learning is happening within the classroom and students are constantly being challenged in all tasks set based on their individual needs.

I have focussed on the inclusion of independent learning for students in lessons and taking ownership of their success in preparation for later life, as I feel independence isn’t just a personal virtue, it’s a moral virtue. Which proved successful in my all of my Drama results since teaching being the highest they have been in the schools. In which I feel was a success due to working closely alongside parents on a daily basis, with updates and regular contact to ensure each student can gain the best possible learning experience alongside pushing for high expectations within their lessons, strong professional mutual relationships with my students and my passion for Drama and Theatre.

Experience: An outstanding head of Drama in an all-Boys grammar school in England 2016-2018, receiving 100% A*-A grades across all exam classes in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

I have achieved the upping of the arts in the number of entries within the school for GCSE, AS and A-level developing the national curriculum. I have received outstanding in all formal observations since the start of my teaching career in 2014. I am a lead for the creation of full enrichment activities within schools in my local area such a leading London theatre practitioners and theatre companies who I work alongside closely to develop student’s skills and knowledge within the school. I have run one on one coursework sessions for students weekly over the past four years to guide them through structuring their work and within the last year, 100% of students have increased two subject grades.

I am now a lead trainer for Creative Arts working within the UAE, setting up Drama as a brand new subject within the local schools across the country. I am running workshops, training teachers and students and overseeing music, art and drama across the emirates. I am assisting in writing the Drama curriculum, creating opportunities for schools and students. I am working closely with a team of experts opening creative arts academies across each emirate and developing and growing students skills.
