Hello! My name is Alice, and I am an expert English tutor with more than 12 years of experience.

I am a friendly, hard-working, and down-to-earth person with a passion for teaching English Literature, English Language, and Media studies among, other subjects.


I have a First Class degree in English Literature from The University of East Anglia, and have a Masters degree, too. I achieved 3 A*s at A-Level from Maidstone Grammar School for Girls and won all 3 subject prizes for outstanding work when I left. My primary job is working in a senior position in the communications sector, meaning I truly am passionate about the power of the written word.

I tailor my approach to individuals` needs and have a unique and effective way of working with students which has, through word of mouth, made parents approach me rather than me approach them in order to tutor their children. Often parents will reach out years after tutoring their first child in order for me to tutor their sibling.

I take a genuine interest in each of my students and truly want them to succeed and can share my tips with your child or yourself so that they/you too can achieve great success within your respective subject. Please see my feedback for evidence of clients` satisfaction with my teaching.

I also tutor in the 11+ exam series, and have a proven track record of success.

I have tutored people between the ages of 4 and 30, so there is no age too young or old for me to help with!

Experience: I have more than 12 years of experience in tutoring a range of ages from primary school, all the way through to A-Level. I also achieved 100% in my English Literature A-Level - I know how to write to an exam boards` set of criteria in order to achieve target grades.

I have taught both in and outside of schools before, and I am willing to drive to wherever you are in order to tutor your child.

I have experience in tutoring for exams, controlled assessments, creative writing, speaking exams. I have tutored in both English Language as well as English Literature.
