Information about Charlotte
A creative, fun approach to help primary school aged children reach their potential, believe in themselves and develop a curiosity for learning.
I deliver quality 1:1 sessions for children in the Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I focus on the fundamental skills and understanding underpinning current school expectations, particularly in SATs and Phonics Screening tests.
Sessions are thoroughly planned and include the use of practical resources, visual aids and short games and quizzes. These activities are informed by National Curriculum goals, ongoing discussion with parents and the child`s individual needs, and activities are tailored to their interests.
My hope is for each child to build a sense of ownership for their learning, through frequently reviewing progress, and discussing any new aims.
I currently offer: Reading, Writing (including SPaG), Maths, and Phonics catch up. For children in Reception - Year 6.
Availability: In light of these strange times, I am currently offering online tutoring sessions, via skype/videoing platforms.
We can arrange a regular time based on individual discussion.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have loved working as a Teacher since gaining a BA (Hons) in Primary Education (with QTS) in 2014, and as both a 1:1 assistant and Tutor prior to this.
I have been fortunate enough to work in varied environments and with varied age groups. I have taught classes of Early Years and Key Stage 1 children and led small intervention groups and 1:1 tuition with Key Stage 2 and Secondary aged children.
My role as Art Coordinator and involvement with a local art charity has reinforced my belief in a creative, accessible approach to education.
Alongside my tutoring, I now work at an Outdoor Education Centre, delivering practical, historical and nature based programmes. I thoroughly enjoy this collaborative, nurturing (and fun, hands-on) approach to learning!

I cannot describe how absolutely amazing Charlotte has been with our 7 year old daughter through lockdown. Charlotte has the most wonderful bright, fun, enthusiastic teaching manner making learning thoroughly enjoyable at all times. She is approachable and a genuinely lovely person to work with and I have complete trust in her competence. She is thorough and always consolidates basic concepts taught before moving to higher levels of learning. She has nurtured my daughters confidence and established a love of learning over a very short period of time and I would highly recommend Charlotte without any hesitation.

Charlotte is a great teacher. She comes up with superb creative ways to engage with younger students and make them feel extremely comfortable with their maths. I have been really satisfied with her work and my son is now "proud of his maths". Thank you Charlotte.
