Information about George
Hi!
My name is George, and I recently graduated from my course in BA Modern Languages (Spanish and Japanese) at the University of Birmingham. I received a Class 2 Division 1 (better known as a 2:1), with a Distinction in spoken Spanish.
I have been speaking Spanish since year one (so since I was 5 years old), and began to formally study Japanese in September 2018, which now adds up to 5 years of experience at a higher education level.
From September 2021 to January 2022 I studied at the University of Valencia in Spain. From April to August 2022, I studied at the University of Keio in Tokyo, Japan. These two international study placements gave me a cultural understanding and linguistic nuance that I am excited to share with my students. I genuinely enjoy sharing my love for languages and the global opportunities that they open up for you. My lessons are fast-paced with consistent progress checks, but I also offer an informal and patient learning atmosphere. I cater every lesson to each student`s interests and learning styles.
I am willing to teach Spanish and/or Japanese to all ages. I will teach Spanish at any level, and Japanese at beginner`s level. Whether you require support for an exam, or need to learn some phrases for your profession, or you simply want to be able to watch Anime without subtitles, contact me and we can make a plan.
Looking forward to working with you.

Weekends: Available.
I will be tutoring alongside my Master`s degree at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: My previous Spanish students have included two GCSE students and two adult beginners. As for Japanese, I have taught a sixth form student (vocational Japanese alongside his A Levels) and two adult beginners. This demonstrates that I am comfortable teaching all ages. Testimonies can be found on my profile!
I myself have persevered through the stresses of GCSEs, A Levels, and now an entire degree in languages. As evidenced by my high grades, I am an incredibly organised and positive person, and you can rely on me to have high quality lessons planned on time. Also, if you are currently working towards an exam or qualification, having recently completed GCSEs, A Levels and a degree myself, I am familiar with exam formats and working out effective studying methods.

George has been very friendly and helpful from the first time we got in contact. He is very good at teaching Japanese with lots of useful resources that makes learning the characters an achievable challenge. He goes at a pace to suit the student and the lessons are fun and my child looks forward to them.

I have had a few lessons with George and he has been a great help with my understanding and pronunciation of words. Lessons are fun and well thought out. I`m looking forward to being able to speak fluent Spanish with the help of George.
