Information about Paul
Confidence is the key to mathematics. I give every student I teach the confidence and enthusiasm they require to succeed by showing them that they are capable of far more than they think they are and that there is no such word as `can`t`. I try to develop a good relationship between myself and my students such that they feel secure enough to shout out the answer when they have it or pause for thought if it`s not quite there yet. I value laughter and determination, and I ensure that all of my lessons contain both in abundance, with a little bit of self-directed learning for good measure.then focus on those areas with particular reference to standards required by the examination board that is required. I usually set 10, quick, homework questions, that we can discuss at the start of each session. And I use computer software to enable self-directed learning at every stage.
Availability: Out of office hours
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have worked for the Swindon Tuition Centre teaching Maths as well as by myself for a number of years now, achieving some fantastic results during that time. I have also tutored university undergraduates at both the University of Bristol and University College London.

Paul has been tutoring math to our daughter year 9. He is very patient, knows how to find the right approach, explains the subject very well. Our daughter picks up the methods a lot faster and her math skills improved. Would definitely recommend him as a tutor. Thank you Paul!

Paul has been teaching Maths to our son, who is in year 8 of secondary school, for a couple of months now. He had fallen behind at school and had lost confidence, so we wanted to get him back on track.
We have been really happy with Paul. From day one he has been very friendly and approachable (although firm!) and our son has built up an excellent relationship with him in a very short period of time. Already we are seeing an improvement in his confidence.
Paul has focused initially on identifying areas that our son specifically needs to work on, making sure that basics are covered with a view to building on this over time. He is excellent at praising him for his achievements which has helped to both motivate him and boost his confidence and feedback direct from my son is that he explains things really well.
I would recommend Paul to others.
