Information about Sheila
I have 35 years of successfully teaching Chemistry up to A level standard at both Grammar and Independent schools. I have extensive knowledge of AQA and OCR Chemistry and am very familiar with the current changes which began Sept 2015 and affect AS and A level.
I have recently retired and am able to increase my availability for private tutoring.
My approach involves:
-detailed explanation of particular topics with additional notes if required
- thorough examination of mark schemes to improve technique
- additional questions for completion at student`s home when their confidence has been increased
Group Tuition: I will consider small group tuition (2/3 students) in particular cases
Availability:
£50 per hour A level
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: Teaching GCSE and A level Chemistry for 35 years.
Qualifications: 1st Class Honours degree from the University of Manchester.

Accommodating, reliable. My daughter found Sheila’s experience of AqA Chemistry gave her confidence in their sessions and my daughter finds the lessons beneficial in supporting her for her A level mocks. We tried a couple of tutors and found Sheila to be the best fit for our daughters needs. Benefitted from a introductory chat to establish learning needs but Sheila is responsive to students queries and my daughter feels at ease in sessions.

Hi, Sheila has been teaching my son Chemistry A Level, starting year 12 for a few months. Sheila has been very approachable and flexible with the classes and time. My son has built up confident in Chemistry. Sheila is very knowledgeable, she has got an adaptive approach, clarity in her explanation. My son enjoys her lessons.
