I am currently a senior leader and history teacher in a successful school in South West London. I have taught for over 20 years in 5 successful comprehensive schools, teaching mainly history to GCSE and A Level. I have also tutored igcse and international A Level very successfully. I have also taught English to GCSE and Media Studies to GCSE and A Level. I have also held a number of leadership positions. I am an examiner at GCSE, igcse and A Level for a number of exam boards so am very up to date with exam requirements. I try to make my sessions as interactive as possible, with a focus on exam technique so that pupils can get the best possible result. For example, in 2018 and 2019 (based on mock grades) all the pupils I tutored for A level achieved A* to B while all my GCSE pupils achieved grade 6 or above. In addition, nearly 90% of my GCSE classes achieved grades 9-4. In 2023 all of my A level students achieved grades A* to A.
Availability: I am available weekends and weekday evenings.

Experience: I have 20 years experience teaching in local comprehensive schools. I have outstanding results at GCSE and A Level - e.g. 97% A*-C at A Level over the years. I also examine for a number of exam boards at GCSE, igcse and A Level. All the students that I have tutored over the last 8 years have received excellent results.

Claire was fabulous. Reliable , organised, helpful and informative when tutoring my daughter for her History A level. My daughter enjoyed the zoom sessions with Claire and would definitely recommend Claire as a history tutor.

Claire is an incredibly kind and supportive teacher. She had helped during the most important year of my life so far and it is no understatement that she pushed me to get the best results that i could`ve ever asked for. Before Claire i had never achieved such grades in my life but in the GCSE`s i had managed to achieve a grade 8 in history which made me delighted, this of course would`ve never been possible without Claire`s incredible lessons. I would recommend Claire as she is clear and coherent and makes studying stress free. She has got a vast knowledge of the subject she teaches with love and has a very good idea of what is expected in the exam and how to perfectly prepare for that. Claire also knows how the papers are marked which helps to get the best scores. Thank you so much Claire! Dominic.
