A qualified and experienced full-time secondary teacher of German and Spanish from key stage 3 up to key stage 5 (age 11-18). I am passionate about languages and spent a year abroad while at university immersing myself in the culture of Germany Spain, an opportunity that wouldn`t have been afforded to me had I not studied a language. Therefore, I enjoy promoting languages as I understand the doors that can be opened from being able to speak another language. I consider myself to be a confident, hard-working and reliable teacher who is a firm believer that languages are for everyone and I have a lot of teaching experience and resources to accommodate all different styles of learners whether on foundation or higher tier or students aiming to progress their knowledge to better their grades. Other colleagues would say I am trustworthy, punctual and ambitious.

Experience: I have 3 years of experience teaching the current GCSE in secondary schools and I have an in-depth knowledge of strategies and resources to approach each of the 4 key exam skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking - which are involved in taking a language at GCSE level. I completed my teacher training in 2018 having graduated with a BA (HONS) in Modern Languages with Translation (German and Spanish) with a distinction in spoken German. I have worked with pupils from a variety of social backgrounds, attainment and motivation levels in several schools across the East Midlands. Therefore, I always aim to accommodate different learning styles and aid pupils who require further support with engaging lesson materials that aim to stretch and challenge students to reach their potential. I am very skilled in IT and have experience using different apps like Word and PowerPoint as well as various online learning tools such as Pearson`s ActiveLearn, Kerboodle and Microsoft Teams. I also like to incorporate authentic materials into my lessons as I believe that these resources bring purpose to a language by delivering it in a more natural context.
