Information about Arsa

Hi my name is Arsa! I am a first year medical student at Imperial College London. I have tutored students for 3 years for a range of subjects from the 11+, KS3, GCSE and with A Level Biology, Chemistry and Maths. All my students last year gained a grade 7 -9 in GCSE Science and Maths. I have also tutored numerous aspiring medical students with their UCAT, personal statements and medicine school interviews with all of them gaining a UCAT score in the top 15% and some students having received offers from their first-choice medical schools for the 2023-2024 admissions cycle.

As a tutor, my two main objectives for a tutoring session is understanding and application. For the first part of the session, I will ensure that the student has a deep understanding of the topic and then during the second part of the lesson I will teach the student how to apply these to a wide variety of question formats which will allow them to excel in an exam setting. There has been moments throughout my preparation for GCSEs and A Levels where I have been stuck on how to learn or how to apply my knowledge. As a tutor, my aim is to overcome this with students by sharing strategies early on in our lessons which I realised later into my studies for these exams. I tailor my tutoring style to each individual and their strengths and weaknesses and I always start off with a recap question from the previous session to ensure the student is confident with previously taught content. I send questions created by myself alongside exam questions to students for homework to consolidate what they have learned in the lesson.

Achieving top scores in the UCAT required various strategies and as a tutor I incorporate these techniques into lessons and share the best ways to save valuable time in these exams. I also have taught at a UCAT webinar. During my interview preparation lessons, I will teach students methods on how to answer each type of question and provide model answers to each question to suit what the interviewer is looking for.

Availability: I am currently available to take on new students to tutor.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have tutored students with varying abilities for three years for an extensive range of subjects from the 11+ to A level. All of my students have continued after their first lesson with me and I have received many positive feedback through my years of tutoring. As I am a medical student at Imperial College London, I hope to help those who want more support in the medicine application process.
