Information about Emma
I am passionate about helping students become who they are capable of being, through creativity, imagination, conviction, and sensitivity. I have a First Class (honours) degree in Journalism and over 9 years in the marketing and advertising industry, working on household brands, at some of the most established creative agencies in the world.
I take a bespoke approach to teaching based the student`s capabilities; the objectives they are trying to achieve; their learning style and first and foremost them as a person. I have the ability to quickly identify these things in others and develop a teaching plan around this to ensure they reach their potential.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I tutor have 6 months tutoring experience in Maths, English and Media Studies / Literacy and have helped students prepare for their 11+, as well as storytelling and creative skills, through helping children to decode advertising and brands as well as develop their own media outlet (a website, YouTube channel or magazine for example).
Along side this, I facilitate group and one-to-one activities for vulnerable children aged 0-11. Teaching techniques to support emotional well-being and coping strategies. Previous to this, I volunteered for the Prince`s Trust mentoring a graduate with creating their own online business. The graduate went on to receive a grant from the charity for the success of her business. This experience has enabled me to offer alternative ways to equip children to be in the right frame of mind for learning, critical thinking skills, so they are able to break down problems and most and foremost confidence, to problem solve on their own.
