Information about Alex

I am a graduate from King`s College London & Masters Graduate from University College London. After attending a state school where I was the only person in the year to gain an A star in History GCSE, I believe I have a wide exposure to the challenges and constraints of the classroom. I followed this by gaining an A grade in my History A-level and 1st degree.

I have now tutored for 6+ years, taught with Teach First, hold an Undergraduate and Masters Degree in History from King`s College London & University College London respectively. Nearly all students I have taught have exceeded their target grade, I believe this is self driven with me placed to coach in knowledge retention, writing technique, debating skills and supporting on all areas which could prevent students reaching full potential. I am currently researching for a high profile author who is writing a historical work, having completed a summer internship with the European Commission. I now have a full time job in `tech`, and continue to tutor as I love to teach and share the knowledge I have been fortunate to acquire over a number of years.

I have a wide interest in history, and am familiar with a wide range of topics. These span from Russia, the middle East and Africa, to Europe from the early middle ages. My specialisms are modern British history from 1900, African history from colonialism to the present, Chinese History and the Cold War.

I spend my time either studying, socialising or working. I believe my strong work ethic and personable skills have got me to where I am today, and would value the opportunity to assist those who may need it at a GCSE, A-level or Degree & Masters standard.

Alex tutored my son in A-level history and I found him to be an excellent tutor. He was extremely organised, worked through the syllabus methodically, and tested my son’s knowledge of each topic thoroughly. Not only did my son receive an A grade in history as a result, but Alex taught him good study skills, which is invaluable. He is also very friendly and punctual. I would highly recommend him.

Alex is a fantastic tutor. He is completely dedicated and committed. He helped my daughter with her History A level. His lessons were brilliant and he was quick to work out what she needed. He is also a delight to have around. Snap him up.
