Information about Jonathan

For the last year, I have been one of the go-to tutors for Chelsea and Fulham tutors for everything from History and Economics A-level to Maths and English common entrance and GCSE. As a very keen sportsman who pursues a daily fitness schedule, I have also teamed up with pupils to run long distances between study sessions I find the exercise dramatically enhances their cognitive abilities.

Having studied an undergraduate degree in Law, I soon moved on to complement these studies with my pursuit of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) designations. In hindsight it is clear that my tackling of a law degree stemmed from my curiosity and interest in the studying of the subject matter rather than viewing it as a means to a future career within legal services hence tailoring further studies to finance. It is this curiosity to learn that I seek to instil in all my students. I complement this by applying numerous motivational strategies to further push my students to not just reach their potential, but, for them to eventually surpass these limits.

Having attended Winchester College for Sixth Form, I am conscious of the efforts one must put in during such entrance examinations, and would therefore also be valuable to all considering attending Winchester College. I thoroughly enjoy seeing all my students tackling the subjects they least enjoy, usually due to their weaker grades, and turning them into subjects they not only get straight As in, but subjects they learn to love.

I have also had a personal experience with tutoring, having tutored my academically challenged younger sister for her maths and physics GCSEs. Whilst we fell slightly short of our 2 A*s target, I raised her grade from a C and D respectfully, to 2 As with only 3 months before exams. I was very proud of her for this achievement. I stress the importance of patience with such pupils. In class, most pupils pretend to understand concepts long before they truly do perhaps out of the embarrassment in front of fellow peers. In a one on one environment, I ensure all my pupils not only understand the mechanisms by which to tackle questions, but that they thoroughly understand the concepts behind these questions. With regards to English and History, we use a very smart approach to enhance their point scoring potential in essay based questions.

Jonathan has been tutoring me only for a few weeks and I already feel great progress in my a-level BS. He is very enthusiastic, he uses different approach in explaining difficult tasks when I struggle, goes extra mile trying various techniques until I feel fully confident. I am very happy with Jonathan`s tuitions and would highly recommend him to anyone.
