Experience: Alongside my past experiences of teaching in my school, as well as beginning to teach as a 4th Year Medical Student at the University of Manchester, I am self-assured anyone in need of tutoring is in safe hands under my guidance. My expertise lies in Chemistry, Biology and Maths (both A level and GCSE) but have begun to teach KS3 to a number of pupils. Having gone through the entire school and college system myself in London, I am accustomed to how stressful a period it can be for anyone preparing for their exams. Nevertheless, I find that my form of teaching places them in a safe environment where they are free to ask for any help and guidance, while not feeling any pressure to make all the mistakes they want now so, in turn, they can learn from them for the future assessments.
Having attained 7A* and 3 As at GCSE as well as 3 As at A Level for the previously aforementioned subjects, I find that my strength lies in presenting complex, difficult topics into very simple terms and in doing so, ensuring the student understands the subject and have a better grasp to retain information better. As well as my academics, I am a keen cricketer and footballer, playing in both university teams. I regularly attend my university MedSoc events, taking a keen interest in the paediatrics and psychiatry societies, so find that I am able to bide my time well. In short, I believe that having a kind, understanding and empathetic approach to teaching is key to build a sustainable rapport with the pupil and guarantee they can gain the most from their learning.
