Information about Miranda
I am a qualified teacher gaining my PGCE with distinction and Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) with Outstanding in 2011. I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an honours degree in Biochemistry and spent a year stuyding at the University of California, Berkeley on a scholarship programme. I have just completed a Masters degree in Leadership and Education at the Institute of Education in London. I have just started my third year studying Medicine at Brighton and Sussex University.
Availability: I am free every Wednesday from 2pm onwards and every day after 6pm. I am also available to tutor at weekends when it is required.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I taught science in a large secondary state school in East London for 3 years and in February 2012 I was appointed Second in Charge of the department. I understand the different requirements of examination boards, can interpret the syllabus and can tailor my teaching to the needs of the learner. I am able to teach all three sciences to the end of Key Stage 4 and both Chemistry and Biology at Key Stage 5. Prior to this, I have also tutored undergraduate athletes at the University of California, Berkeley and worked for a number of tutoring agencies in London.
