Information about John
A graduate in Chemistry from the University of York, I have a passion for science and sharing knowledge. I teach with enthusiasm, empathy and patience, offering tuition both in person and online for Chemistry and Physics.
My goal is to inspire, guide and encourage students in science, enabling them to grow in confidence as they develop their knowledge and understanding. Tuition covering Key Stages 3 & 4, up to GCSE level, short-term or long-term, up to exams if required.
I provide tailored teaching, taking into account the needs of the individual student. This enables us to identify and focus on areas that need further work. Use of past exam paper questions and marking schemes allows us to understand and develop exam techniques. Ill always provide positive and constructive feedback.
My approach is to develop understanding of concepts and independent thinking, including using easy to understand analogies and practical examples. Im currently supporting my Year 10 daughter with GCSE sciences. I have an understanding of neurodiverse needs, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD and auditory issues.
