Chioma

Hi there!

My name is Chioma and I studied History at Hatfield College, Durham University, graduating with Upper Second-Class honours in 2021.

My highest marks were in my dissertation on the changing interpretation of the Benin bronzes in Britain since the late 19th century; Classical and Baroque architectural history, English illuminated manuscri pts and the history of urbanisation in modern European cities. I also have A-Levels in History, Maths and Government & Politics, achieving 3As.

In my spare time, I love playing rugby, editing videos and teaching myself how to code in SQL and Python.

Experience: I have 3+ years of experience as a History tutor, working with young children through to university students. As such, I believe that I have learnt effective tactics used to engage, relate and where necessary, steer the students to complete their work. Not only this, but I have also worked as an English tutor for 14 months in South Korea, during my gap year. Therefore I have knowledge of TOEFL examinations as well as being able to adapt my teaching style to cater to the requirements of the student.
