Hello I`m Tom.

I`m a biologist who has had the opportunity to travel the globe researching the natural world.

Having designed my own research and communicated knowledge to both local people and governments I have built a range of hands-on scientific skills. My goal is to pass on some of this experience to my students so they can develop their own enthusiasm and tools for success.

I am passionate about Biology, Geography and Ecology. With a Masters in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation (from Imperial College London) and a degree in Natural History (from University South Wales), I have found it is important that students not only learn what is required for their studies but also use their abilities to think independently and solve problems.

Whether catching up on grades, wanting a study refresher, or struggling with confidence; as somebody who has been in all of these positions and learnt to overcome them, I would like to offer my help.

Availability: Available weekdays.

Willing to travel: 50 miles

Experience: -Worked as a schools coordinator and jungle guide teaching GCSE, International Baccalaureate and A-level students about ecology, biology and geography of the Honduran Cloud forest.

-Gave talks to international school groups on tropical ecology, in conjunction with my own Biological research.

-As a result of teaching in challenging conditions I feel confident developing both complex and simple ideas with a genuine interest and patience.

-Background in Swim coaching of mixed abilities means I`m used to expanding pupils confidence and enjoyment outside their comfort zone.
