Information about John
I am a very experienced, enthusiastic and friendly teacher and tutor. I have been a teacher of mathematics since 1976 and made a first attempt at retirement when I was 60 in 2013.
However, when I did try to retire I really missed the enjoyment of helping people to achieve their mathematical potential, so since then I have done some part-time teaching. The pupils I have tutored 1:1 either at school, at their home or online by Skype have always enjoyed my help and found the lessons fun and engaging. As a result of my tutoring my tutees have been able to work at their mathematics with new-found confidence and have achieved success beyond their expectations. I`m willing to travel up to 10 miles from home, but Maths-by-Skype works really well if you would like to do online tutoring.
Availability: I have a number of tutees at the moment but I`m sure we will be able to negotiate mutually convenient times.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: Teacher of Maths since 1976, and have always had a small number of private tutees each year that I have helped to succeed.

John has taught my son ahead of his Maths GCSE for several months, he has been reliable, punctual and flexible throughout. Not only is John an expert in his subject, his teaching style has brought out the best in my son and given him great confidence ahead of his exams. John clearly has a very good understanding of young people, he has a relaxed approach and is very patient. I would thoroughly recommend John to any parent aiming to give their child both knowledge and confidence in Maths.
