I am a fully qualified teacher with 30 years experience in teaching in both primary and secondary schools. Due to high demand for my services, I now run a small tuition business, Discovery Tutors.

Here at Discovery tutors we offer tailor made tuition to meet the needs of individual students. We can also help with preparation for SATs, entrance exams, GCSEs, functional skills and professional skills tests, or support students who are being home educated.

All of our tutors and teachers have received training and have undergone enhanced DBS checks and child protection training.

Due to the fact that we are a team of tutors, you will be able to choose the tutor who is the best fit for your child.

We are experienced in tutoring students with dyscalculia, dyslexia and other specific learning needs.

Online tuition is available, either through the Tutor Hunt system or via the system we have been using since November 2016 - this can be arranged in the same way that you arrange face-to-face sessions, meaning you will not have to incur the extra charges that Tutor Hunt add for online tuition (up to 3%). Of course, Tutor Hunt will still charge you the release fees for my details in the normal way.

For students considering the online option, stated above, I am happy to give a 15 minute free demonstration prior to the first lesson, in order to ensure that you feel comfortable with the system. This demo will take place at a different time from your first lesson.

Although the profile states that we do not travel to students, this is for students taking sessions after school and at weekends. Depending on the tutor you choose, travel distance and the number of hours required per session, there may be the option of tuition in your own home between 9am and 12.00 noon on weekdays during term-time.

Most tuition now takes place online, although we are available for in-person tuition which takes place at Palgrave Community Centre (IP22 1AH) on Thursdays from 3pm - 7pm
