Information about Abi
I am a qualified teacher currently working with school pupils (of all abilities), boosting their communication skills in the key areas of English Language. My specialist teaching areas are Year 6 SATS (spelling, punctuation, grammar and reading comprehension) and GCSE English Language. These are subjects in which I have a proven track record helping students to attain or exceed their targets.
In short, I help learners to:
Read - with improved fluency and comprehension.
Write - with better grammar and spelling.
Speak - with greater confidence and expression.
Listen - with deeper focus and attention.
Initially I will spend a short time establishing a rapport with you, the learner, discovering your motivations, interests and preferred learning style. Thereafter I will create a personalised learning scheme, including targets and objectives, which will allow us to track your progress. In my experience, good relationships are the key to ensuring good progress.
Availability: I am available week day evenings and some afternoons. Also available at weekends.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have 15 years experience teaching in mainstream schools in London. For the past 7 years I have worked as a specialist English teacher in various Special Needs schools - teaching pupils with autism, ADHD, moderate learning difficulties and behavioural issues.
