Information about Nicole

Hello! My name is Nicole and I am an active senior Postdoc at University College London. In addition to my decorated C.V, I hold a teaching qualification from the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and mentor MSc students in my department. Married with my passion and in depth understanding of science, I possess the high level skill set needed to educate and inspire my students at all levels.

I am a native German speaker! If you are interested in learning German, get in touch! Are you doing your GCSE in German or do you have to study for exams? Or maybe you need German for work or University, or you are just curious to improve your German to understand song lyrics or poems? I am currently teaching students at all levels.

I am an active researcher (Postdoc) in cancer signalling at the UCL Cancer Institute, and I am also part of my department’s teaching and tutor groups.
Due to the nature of my educational background, I have an excellent understanding of Science subjects and I am adept in explaining complex concepts and ideas in a more understandable and manageable way. Through my degrees I have studied biology, biochemistry and related subjects and therefore would be comfortable with teaching any science-based subject. In addition, I also offer advice and assistance with your lab work, in particular, planning and designing experiments and evaluating scientific data as well as writing reports or dissertations.

I understand teaching as a way of providing students with a set of tools and methods that they can easily remember and use in a daily basis. I also believe that understanding the fundamentals in order to have a solid base on which to build and link information is the key to success. Thus, I aim to make my sessions as lively and interactive as possible and I can be completely guided by you as to what we cover. And I pride myself on being very professional and reliable.

I teach from a dedicated study area in my house, which guarantees no disturbance and a quiet ambience for students to get the most out of the lesson.
