Information about Aaron
I am a third year medical student at Nottingham University with a desire to help you or your child achieve their goals. Having tutored GCSE Maths to students during my A-Levels, I know what it takes to attain the highest grades. I am a friendly tutor with experience teaching children of varying levels in academic ability.
On the first lesson I like to discuss with the student what areas they feel confident with and provide a 30-minute assessment covering a range of topics, through which I aim to establish the students ability. From there, I will use a combination of questions from past papers and textbooks to help the tutee on the areas they struggle with the most, whilst also providing spaced repetition of their best topics. Communicating difficult concepts into more manageable problems is a challenge I welcome, and am confident I can succeed in.
I aspire to convert my avid interest in maths into a fun and friendly learning experience, whilst also enhancing their confidence by giving them exam-specific advice and being persistent in making sure they have no doubts about any of the content. I aim to put in as much work as necessary in order to help my student achieve the grade they desire.
Availability: I am available from 8am to 6pm every day of the week.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have direct experience in teaching GCSE maths to a range of students with varying needs. Prior to this, I have also helped younger students with 11+ exam preparation through the extensive use of past papers.
Having gone through the application process for medicine, I understand how daunting it can be. Giving weekly presentations to Year 12 students about all aspects of the medical school application means I am able to proofread personal statements, and assist with UCAT, BMAT, and MMI preparation.
