Information about Georgia
I`m based in North London and have been working as an actor, writer, and tutor for the past 3 years. I graduated from Oxford University in 2017 with a 2.1 in Classics. I now work as a tutor in London, and have 5 years of experience working with students from age 8 to 18. I specialise in teaching Latin, and have taught at Common Entrance, GCSE, A-level and Oxbridge Application level. I also tutor in a great range of other subjects up to GCSE, and at 11+ and Common Entrance level, including verbal and non-verbal reasoning. My aim as a tutor is always to pass on my own enthusiasm for learning to my students, to keep the lessons engaging and fun, and to tailor the work specifically to the individual.
For the past 6 months I worked at an educational charity, IntoUniversity, which specialises in providing academic support to young people from backgrounds which tend to progress less frequently into higher education than average. In this environment, I was able to create connections with a great range of young people, aged 8-18, and honed my process as a teacher or teaching-figure. I learnt to properly adapt my teaching methods to the student at hand and found great joy in seeing the progress and enthusiasm of the kids.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: As outlined above, I have plenty of tutoring and mentoring experience. I began working as a private tutor while still at university, and since then have worked with many young people of all ages to help them with their learning. I have worked with students to successfully get them through 11+ exams and 13+ exams, as well as students who have gone on to secure places at Oxford and other top-tier universities. At my previous job, IntoUniversity, I was in charge of our centre`s relationship with local primary schools and, as such, have a good grasp of primary level curriculums and priorities.
