I am a third year student at the University of Birmingham, studying Physics with Particle Physics & Cosmology.

I come from Romania, which is where I had my previous studies. When I arrived at university, I felt much better prepared than my British colleagues, because I had much more experience in technical subjects such as Mathematics, Computing and Laboratory Physics. As such, I managed to obtain the highest grade in the year at the Physics Laboratory course in my first year and was one of the best in my year last year.

While I was back home in high-school, I went to various individual and team-based Physics competitions, representing myself and my school on a national level. The pinnacle of my competitive "career" was obtaining the grand prize at the International Space Settlement Design Competition hosted by NASA in 2012.

individual work with friends that needed to learn a certain subject in time for exams - these meetings were less formal but the topic itself was treated thoroughly enough
