Information about Nicolas

Bonjour!
My name is Nicolas and I am a French native speaker ( I was born and raised in Limoges, central France) who is currently teaching French in a Secondary school in the Cheltenham area. Whilst studying in France, I have achieved A-levels in Italian, and German as well as recently studying and being awarded an A* in my Spanish GCSE. I am planning to learn Arabic in years to come, as I feel that it is important to continue to develop my passion for languages and experiencing new cultures through this medium.

During my 10 years teaching experience, I have had the fantastic opportunity of teaching at all levels: primary, secondary (from Year 7 to Year 13) but also to adults, wishing to develop their knowledge of the language. I have had many trusted responsibilities within education and I currently hold a middle management (pastoral) role within my school.

In terms of tutoring, I enjoy teaching and supporting individuals with `beginners` French, as well as tailoring specific lessons for those who require additional 1:1 support in the lead up to exams such as GCSE, AS-Level and A-Level. I am also able to provide lessons for those who would like to focus upon learning `conversational` French perfect for those of you who would like to be able to speak confidently whilst travelling and holidaying abroad. Additionally, if you would like a deeper learning of French grammar, then I will adapt my teaching to your requirements. Overall, I feel that it is important for tutoring to be tailored for the individual, ensuring that progress is made, that you are more than satisfied with your lesson and that, importantly, you are having fun!

As an experienced teacher, I am aware of the importance of establishing a strong rapport with students it is important to identify a student`s goals and aspirations and to regularly revisit these, throughout the process of tutoring, so that it is clear that these goals are being met.

I believe that I am able to offer outstanding and rewarding sessions to all who require them and look forward to hearing from all potential students!

Availability: i am available weekends and evenings (after 4.30pm) during term times and I have more flexibility during school holidays.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have a `Baccalaureat Litteraire`, which is an A-Level equivalent in Languages (including French) and History.

I also hold a degree in English Literature and Civilisation.

I have taught students at Key Stage 2.
I have taught a group of 15 adults as part of an evening French class, following the OCR examination board.
I am currently teaching students at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and key Stage 5, following the Edexcel and AQA examination boards.
