Larry page and Sergey Brin were studying for their Ph.D. degrees when they started the project which turns into Google. They believed that pages with the most links from other important sites on the internet are likely to be the most relevant to the person conducting the search. At first, men conducted their studies on campus, but eventually they moved off campus and officially incorporated their company from a friend`s garage in Menlo Park California. Today millions of users visit google.com to search the internet and are drawn by its simple and easy to use design and the fact that the site is free. Google sells advertising by the popularity of a keyword and not just banner ads that are so popular on other websites.
