Ok so its not the guitar rock legend days of the 1970`s any more so why should you consider learning the electric guitar ?

I have some experience of playing a range of instruments including, piano, electronic keyboard, drums and trumpet ! Over the years I`ve come to believe the guitar is the best instrument to learn - and here`s why.

Guitar is a great instrument to improvise on !

Few instruments offer the ability to improvise in any key using similar patterns. Piano`s have black notes to negotiate when changing key, and wind and brass instruments different fingerings. On the guitar you can just move your scale patterns around. Learn one pattern and play it in any key ! You can also move chords into different keys using a guitar capo, which is particularly useful for singers.

Electric guitar covers a huge range of styles. Unlike classical guitar, electric guitar covers many styles over literally millions of songs. Jazz, rock, blues, country you name it, electric guitar can play it ! (well maybe not classical music, but that`s why we have classical guitars).

Electric guitar can be a fun way to meet people. You can play in groups, form a band, play in pubs or halls, or even just annoy the neighbours !

You can take validated examinations in electric guitar in just the same way as classical instruments. These exams are approved worldwide and confer points towards University entry.

The best reason to learn electric guitar, however is because its a fun instrument. I can provide you with a course that will have you improvising blues lead guitar within a month of lessons. Within a year you will be able to play millions of songs with a range of chords.

Its a great instrument. After 30 years of playing I`m still learning and I can completely recommend it !
