Exercise keeps your body and brain healthy. Swimming, running and sports are proven to be very good for you mentally and physically.

2- Reduce your bad habits manage your alcohol-intake and substance misuse, this is an obvious health recommendation however it is fact that people with alcohol and drug problems are much more likely to have poorer mental and physical health. lt;br>Nicotine addiction also profoundly affects mood.

3- Prioritise sleep Sleep quality is affected massively by the consumption of caffeine a regulated sleeping time is also vital. Put your phone aside 30 minutes before going to sleep as the white light affects how long it takes for you to fall asleep.

4- Get a dose of nature Sunshine and being outside has been proven to uplift your mood and to help normalise the sleep-wake cycle. Spending time in the wilderness can uplift your mood and self-esteem.

5- Reach out when you need help - Obviously, these steps can help to improve your lifestyle and mental health, but they are no match for medication and psychology.
Although some of these steps take a lot of self-discipline they can result in better mental and physical health.
