In order to effectively learn mathematics you must be actively involved in the learning process. You need to attend classes and take good notes. You have got pay attention in class and do homework. You’ve got to study on a regular schedule. Practice and do more regular practice.

2.       Mathematics is a sequential subject. If you don`t understand a topic, focus on mastering that area before moving on to the next topic. For example if you cannot add, subtract, divide or multiply integers correctly, there is no way you can work topics in algebra like linear and non-linear equations. Work to understand principles and not just memorize them.

3.       When using your textbook, make sure you work example problems and check your answers to gain practice with every lesson. This helps to build your confidence in the subject.

4.       When you study and do homework, try to create a distract-free environment. In a quiet place, you`ll be able to focus and absorb more.

5.       Apply the subject to real life problems. Draw a picture of what the problem is describing. The process of drawing the situation causes us to internalize what the problem is really asking for. It helps us to figure out the solution.
