Information about Richard
With a 2(i) Degree in Mathematics and Psychology and a PGCE, I have spent the last 25 years working as an A level lecturer in Maths, Further Maths, Philosophy, Critical Thinking and Religious Studies, at three different London tutorial colleges, namely: Chelsea Independent College, Collingham, and Wentworth College in NW London. I have also taught GCSE Physics and Chemistry privately. Throughout the whole of that period I have been self-employed as a private tutor and built up a successful business, working from my home in West London. In the 90s, after completing my post-graduate studies at Keele University, I specialised in Adult Education and was employed at Stoke-on-Trent College in Staffordshire, where I created a Return to Learn course in Mathematics for adults who had been out of education for more than 5 years.
Availability: I`m now working from home and can presently accommodate up to 10 hours a week of new tuition.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have worked as an examiner in Maths and Psychology for Pearson (Edexcel) and AQA. I was also Head of Maths and Head of Psychology at Wentworth College, in North West London. For the last 15 years - before the government destroyed the examination system on 18th March 2020 - I worked as a tutor doing up to 20 hours per week in all the subjects mentioned above.

Richard is an excellent tutor. He helped my daughter with her A-Level Maths and not only increased her topic knowledge, but coached her on exam techniques which helped bolster her confidence enormously.
Richard is extremely caring and dedicated to his pupils. He is always well prepared with work set at the correct level and is both challenging and knowledgeable throughout each session. I cannot speak highly enough of this tutor, who is thorough, adaptive, personable and highly competent.
We would recommend him highly as a tutor.
