My goodwill and humour ensure a relaxed atmosphere where mistakes are part of the learning process, and my students feel free to take risks on the path to improvement. My standards are high and I challenge my students to reach their potential, but always with kindness, patience, and encouragement.

For KS1 - 4 students, I will work together with the parents to assess the student`s goals, whether the aim is to pass a national exam or to excel within the National Curriculum. According to my student`s needs and objectives, I design a tutoring plan based on in-session exercises and an appropriate amount of homework. Reading lays the groundwork for improved vocabulary and deeper understanding of English, so I use the best English language literature to help my students develop a natural ease and fluency in English, while enriching the intellect, spirit and cultural literacy. For children, I will use the books studied under the National Curriculum, or those I carefully select for their value and timelessness. In the process of learning, I might also draw on speeches by Winston Churchill for older students, Just So Stories, or meaningful quotations from Gandhi or Martin Luther King, Jr. My learning plan for children might be centred on acquiring grammar and writing skills through studying and responding to good literature, such as Roald Dahl`s James and the Giant Peach or C.S. Lewis`s Chronicles of Narnia. Finally, I am able to offer a range of preparation for adult learners of English, from oral confidence in interviewing, to drafting texts, to improvement of CVs and cover letters.
