I am an experienced and qualified retired Science teacher specialising in Biology, with 35 years experience as a secondary school teacher and over 10 years in home tuition. I hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Genetics and Zoology from Cardiff University. I have a track record of improving knowledge and confidence in my tutees. As well as revisiting topics covered in school, I like to use past papers to practise the application of acquired knowledge, which, of late is becoming increasingly challenging.
In addition to my teaching experience. I have acted as an examiner for both GCSE and A-level Biology exams for the following exam boards:

GCSE Biology – AQA and OCR
A-Level Biology – OCR
Coursework moderation – WJEC

Through working directly with these examining boards, I have gained valuable experience of what examiners are looking for in student’s answers to obtain maximum marks, which I pass on through my tuition.

I offer one-to-one tuition which is tailored to individual needs, whether that be the whole curriculum or specific topic areas. I have an extensive resource pool of past paper questions from varying examining boards, along with their mark schemes, as well as my own teaching materials that have built up through the years.

Availability: Anytime - though I try to keep Sundays and Wednesdays free.
