Information about Estelle
I am offering interventions for pupils who are significantly below their age related expectations due to partular special educational needs. These needs could be related to dyslexia, autism, tourettes or speech and language difficulties to name but a few. They also may be related to having English as a second language. Usually booked for 10 weeks at 2 x weekly, these interventions can make a huge impact on a child`s learning.
Looking forward to working with you!
Availability: After school and weekends for intervention based sessions.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: Originally a secondary teacher of geography 4 years and primary teacher mainly year 5 and 6 for 6 years and then SEN Teacher for all KS2. I worked as EAL Co-ordinator and have trained to work with those who have little English to start with. I am trained in Individual Literacy Interventions and also teach phonics as well as a number of other interventions. I can assess pupil needs and create a plan of action and recommendations that they can also use for school. I have tutored pupils for SATS preparation in Literacy and Maths. Currently I am working as a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) and have just completed the National Certificate for Special Educational Needs at Plymouth University (NASENCO). Whilst I spend most of my time co-ordinating I love to work with children directly on interventions.
