Information about Mike

I am a patient tutor and believe in working with my students as individuals. I can help with alternative approaches and strategies where needed and look at the general picture of study skills and how to approach the subject as well as dealing with specific topics.
I am an expert at using spreadsheets (Excel) and enjoy using them and other mathematical software to help explain concepts. I have run workshops for teachers on using Excel and published resources online which have been widely used.
I also offer tutoring in spreadsheet projects and general computer assistance.

Availability: Students need to be able to come to my house in Tyberton near Madley.
I do not travel out to visit students.

Experience: I have over 30 years experience of teaching, mainly in sixth form colleges and international schools.
I can help with all aspects of the subject from numeracy skills, GCSE, A and AS level including Pure Maths, Mechanics, Statistics, Further Maths and university entrance exams.

My son gets very flustered with maths ,Mike has a calming presence and works out the best way or method that suits you

Very welcoming, provided alternative solutions to my math problems and we then picked the best one that suited me. Very relaxed class that made learning easier.
