I have been tutoring for four years, following a ten year career as a secondary school teacher in Hackney. I specialise in English - both language and literature and include support with study skills and exam preparation.

I have experience of working one to one with children aged 7-18. I work with children according to ability and learning styles and encourage creativity and communication.

I have on occasion tutored siblings together and have found this to be an enjoyable way for some students to learn.

I am patient, creative and passionate about children`s achievement and work with parents and carers to ensure we provide the best support for the student.

I am able to provide references and am flexible with times and location.

Experience: Ten years experience as secondary English teacher. Also, two years as headteacher of secondary school for boys with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

I have provided family support as part of my work with Homestart, an organisation providing support through volunteering.

2 years experience of training adults to support families, including delivery of an accredited course.

I also providing a coaching and mentoring service for young people.
