Information about Lara

Being a teacher has always been very interesting for me. Since I began the secondary school, I was quite fascinated on how apparently simple people can show so many details on so many different issues.
My favorite subject was English so a couple of years later I was completely sure that I wanted to be an English Teacher. I start my degree on English Literature and Linguistics in my hometown university in Madrid. I began to work as a teacher in my first year of the degree. It was as English teacher for extra activities but it was very important for me to gain some experience in how to treat students. I began being a teacher for Primary students but then I changed to Secondary and adult education as it appeared to more interest for me.
I have spent 7 years giving classes to very different students. Sometimes it was difficult as I had many different levels in one class but I tried to do my best thank to my strong sense of organization. During these years I have developed my listening skills to the students, I think it is of prior importance to listen what they have to say. Some of my students told me that their teachers from high school did not care about their problems, their matters and I think that developing a good relationship based on respect with the students is essential.
I also believe on the importance of working in team. You need to know what each member can contribute because ideas can be shared and we can combine our skills and experiences.
I consider myself a good teacher, with good relationships with the students, the staff and always trying to be updated in everything I need to do in my job. I am used to prepare classes, control students, use new technologies, and motivate them through class techniques that made them to feel more secure and more self-motivated in the class.
