I am currently a Joint Honours student in English and Spanish at the University of Leeds. Although I am quite young, I believe this could give me the advantage when tutoring one-to-one as certain students may find it easier to relax around and identify with someone of their own age. I am friendly, easy to approach and will try to help my students in any way that I can whilst adapting to their specific learning requirements and preferences. I would be able to provide a variety of teaching methods depending on the choice of the pupil and I would hope to help them learn as much as possible whilst enjoying their classes. I am willing to tutor in the student's own home to help them to relax.
Although my experience is mainly with younger children, I believe I would also work well with older children, teenagers and adults as they are closer to my age group.
Availability: Weekends and some evenings.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: My mother is a primary school teacher so I have spent many weeks helping her in the classroom with primary school aged children when my school term has finished earlier than theirs. Contact this Tutor
This summer I spent 2 weeks as an au pair with a Spanish family helping the children (aged 4, 6 and 8) develop their English language skills whilst looking after them. During this time I also spent some time helping adult friends of the family with their English too.
At high school I also spent time teaching Spanish as a group to primary school aged children and reading poetry that I wrote with a group of friends to similar-aged children.
I have also written comic strips for Bolton Wanderers about the team mascot aimed at young children.
