Information about Vicky
I am an extremely knowledgeable, dedicated and experienced English subject specialist teacher who has over twenty years teaching experience in the Education sector. My aim is to work innovatively for the enhancement and development of the kind of education delivered today. I use humour, imagination and innovation within the learning environment in order to encourage a positive creative culture amongst students. I have an excellent track record with students and have the ability to make their studies seem easy. References are available upon request.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe passionately that Every Child Matters and safeguarding is of paramount importance which is why, before the commencement of the first session, my full teaching qualifications and current DBS is presented to parents.
By adopting a relaxed and informal approach this enables each individual learner opportunities to flourish and grow, regardless of their previous educational experiences. Within my sessions and tutorials I have outstanding skills in differentiating learning activities to suit each individual. This ability, coupled with my superb inter-personal and communication skills enable me to liaise with students, colleagues, parents and other educational and, if appropriate, health care professionals in an effective and calm manner.
All lessons are planned specifically for the focus of the sessions: Key Stage 1 and 2 SATs; Entrance Examinations; 11+; GCSE English Literature; GCSE English Language; IGCSEs; and A Level English Language. For children that are not currently working towards a specific qualification then each session is planned according to the National Curriculum.

Experience: When I left school I trained as a ballet and contemporary dancer for three years and after graduating I then worked successfully for over twenty years as a performer, choreographer and teacher of dance and movement. However, the rigorous life of a dancer left me with an ankle injury which forced me into early retirement - at the tender age of 33 years! I then decided to retrain and study at University reading English and Drama. I passed with a first class honours degree. I then continued my studies for a fourth year when I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. Since graduating I have, for the past ten years, taught English to students in both Further Education Colleges and Mainstream Schools as well as tutoring students in their homes. These children are usually working towards various qualifications such as: KS1 SATS, KS2 SATS, 11 Plus (one-to-one and group sessions available), Entrance Examinations, IGCSE, GCSE, A Level, Functional Skills and Adult Literacy qualifications.
All students tutored by me for the past twenty consecutive years have all passed their examinations with flying colours. I have a 100% pass rate for both 11 Plus and Entrance Examinations and over the years children have obtained places in the following schools: Kings, Queens, The Grange, West Kirkby Grammar School, Caldy Valley Boys Grammar School, Cransley, Exeter School and Abbey Gate. Well done to you all!

Vicky is a passionate, professional and knowledgable teacher. My daughter had 3 sessions with Vicky on the run up to her GCSE English Literature. It really boosted her confidence and helped her with exam strategies. Highly recommended.

Vicky worked with my younger son previously and made a fantastic difference.
She is now working with my elder son as he approaches his first GCSE paper. His immediate response after one session was to recognise that he now needed help and to ask for more sessions as he felt the one he had had was so useful.
Tutors Response :
Dear Nicky,
Thank you so much for such terrific feedback! I think any potential parent`s considering tuition need to hear it from the experienced!
Kindest regards,
Vicky
