Information about Ashley
I have taken early retirement after over 30 years in the university sector. As well as teaching & tutoring undergraduates, I have used mathematics and electronics in my research activities (initially astrophysics and latterly microscopy of composite materials).
Although I am, no doubt, old enough to be your grandfather, I am sure that I can help you sort out any problems you may be having with your maths or physics. For the past 12 years, I have been tutoring one-to-one in person but, since the appearance of the pandemic corvid19, I have been using the apps Zoom and Onenote for internet tutoring.However, now that covid has been contained, if you live within the Leeds area, I could see you at your home (if that is what you prefer).
Availability: Very flexible - anytime during most weekdays and. when necessary, at the weekends.

Experience: 30 years lecturing, tutoring and researching in Physics, Mathematics and Electronics in the Department of Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Leeds followed by over 12 years home tutoring in maths and physics at both GCSE and A levels..

Ashley is lovely. He is very organised and professional. He never wastes a moment of tutoring time and my son, who was unsure about having a tutor, is very happy to work with him. He says that he is learning and that the sessions are good and useful.

I am very happy with my choice of Ashley as my sons tutor, my son is currently studying for A level physics and Ashley has been able to clarify many points that the college tutors don’t have the time to do. With exercises and practical examples, Ashley’s knowledge of the subject and his patience are helping my son to gain confidence in this subject.

Great tutor, explains things clearly and concisely, making sure you really understand the topic. Can quickly cover entire topics and makes use of the entire time you’re paying for. In the short time I’ve been receiving tutoring from Ashley my understanding of maths has improved greatly.
