Experience: Since gaining my English language degree and Teaching certification I have been tutoring students of English in all the core areas of language learning Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Grammar. Designing my own lessons and offering my advice on valuable books, I have worked hard to improve the levels of many non-native students who have gone on to live as fully functioning speakers in English speaking countries.
GENERAL ENGLISH CLASSES
These lessons are centred around communication skills in the work-place, at home and the main English that is needed to live well and build a good life in an English speaking country. I initially provide an assessment level test, which helps me to distinguish the student`s current grade of English and we then build a plan together with clear goals.
FCE and CAE CLASSES (CAMBRIDGE EXAMS)
Many students take these exams to receive full certification showing their level of English. These are taken into consideration for certain jobs, especially in Spanish speaking countries.
I am fully up to date with the current layout of the exams and so I am able to guide students in the right direction with feedback and advice on their speaking and writing, as well providing solid tips on how to work on the listening and speaking parts. The Use of English (Grammar) part of the exam but I actively encourage students of mine to use the new vocabulary in real-life ways.
This is the most important exam for speakers of other languages who want to study at a British university. Despite being a high level academic exam, I provide lessons based on small goals to prevent this from being as daunting as it initially can be for many students. Feedback is given on all aspects of the exam(Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading) and I constantly provide new vocabulary and strategies for improving.
Over the last few years I have been working within companies to help improve the English level and understanding of many of their employees. Santander, GSK, Hitachi UK Rail, Thistle Hotels and Lidl are just a few of the businesses I have collaborated with to support the understanding of Business English.
Each lesson is focused upon the structured needs and goals of the individuals or groups. This includes working on general vocabulary needed in their specific role, customer service, how to take part in and facilitate meetings, writing formal emails and letters, how to sell products effectively as well as how to function using small talk and polite replies.
I have been contracted through reputable Language and Communication companies (ELT, Professional Language Solutions and Kleinson) to undertake various classes.
