Welcome to my profile!
I have been tutoring for 6 years. I have wide and diverse experience in tutoring young people of all ages. I can offer tuition in a range of subjects including Maths, English and foreign languages, of which I am fluent in three. I also pride myself on being able to communicate effectively with people of all ages, making learning as fun and interesting as possible. Most importantly, I make sure that every student takes away something of value from every lesson that can be used later on in their studies.
I have a background in Law, having achieved an undergraduate degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Law, Business and Management with Distinction. Previously, I studied Maths and English at GCSE and A-level, so I’m well-positioned to understand the school curriculum through personal experience as well as teaching experience.
I have a DBS certificate which allows me to work with children and vulnerable people.
Availability: My availability varies from time to time, so please do get in touch with me if you have any questions or would like to arrange a first lesson.
I can also offer tutoring remotely over Zoom.
Initial approach to tutoring: before starting formal lessons, I speak to students and parents to identify any learning problems or goals, after which the student will sit a short assessment. I will then be able to provide feedback. It is my aim to tailor lessons to best suit your learning needs.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have over 6 years of tutoring and mentoring experience, especially in Maths and English. Throughout my A-level and university studies, I taught Maths, English, Russian, Spanish and Music part-time at a local learning centre and from home. I have since had several years’ experience tutoring students at primary school level all the way up to older students preparing for their GCSEs and A-levels.
I now tutor privately and am proud to have helped dozens of students achieve their goals.

Alex is a very good tutor, nice, competent and reliable. She is organised and enthusiastic person with very good communication skills. My son is very comfortable with her teaching methods. I strongly recommend her as a tutor.

My daughter recently had mock exams and said had it not been for Alex’s tutoring she would have struggled with the paper, Alex has helped her immensely in the short time she’s had her and I’m thrilled.

Alexandra is a very patient tutor. She helps my daughter, who has special education needs, through careful explanations, exercises and homework assignments. My daughter has improved her English understanding and writing. I would highly recommend Alexandra.
