My name is Elena and am currently a student. I am extremely enthusiastic about Music and English and my aim is to make others as passionate about these subjects as I am. I am always willing to be extremely patient and adapt my teaching to suit all different learning styles and abilities. I will always invest as much time as I possibly can and will always make sure that, by the end of the session, the pupil has grasped the topic/concept/skill.
I am an avid reader with particular interest in the works of Edgar Allan Poe and in the subject of Victorian history. I have Grade 8 Violin and recently performed Beethoven`s Ninth Symphony with Cardiff University Symphony Orchestra in St. David`s Hall. I have also performed in other venues including Birmingham`s Symphony Hall, Town Hall, the Adrian Boult Hall and other venues in Germany.
Maths was always a subject I enjoyed throughout school but was one I struggled with immensely. During primary school I found it extremely difficult to grasp basic concepts. Once I had reached secondary school I was told that I was not going to pass my GCSE in Mathematics and pushed myself and managed to achieve a high B grade. I, therefore, want to provide primary school tuition in basic numeracy skills in order to show younger children that Mathematics is not impossible. I have developed multiple techniques that helped me including visual aids.
I have extremely flexible hours and was CRB checked for my recent post at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in February 2014.
