Information about Judy
I am an Oxford University graduate, who is passionate about mathematics.
I strongly believe that students learn more when they are interested in a subject and each tutorial, I strive to make the students enjoy mathematics as much as I do. I include lots of real-world examples and questions that involve problem solving, not only because they come up in the exam, but also because they are more intriguing. Each tutorial will be tailored to each individual student and I will boost their confidence whilst also providing them with challenging questions.
Availability: I currently work as a part-time teacher. I am available to teach every Tuesday and alternate Thursdays or Fridays. I am also available from 4pm to 7pm every weekday evening.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I am a fully qualified mathematics teacher with over nine years of teaching experience and am DBS certified. During this time, I have taught both GCSE and A Level Mathematics, including A Level Further Mathematics, to a variety of different ability students and for a variety of different exam boards.
For the past four years I have worked as a Lead Practitioner of Mathematics. This role has allowed me to concentrate on mathematical pedagogy and to work with some of the most able students within my school.
I have also spent time wor as a GCSE and A Level Tutor and can provide student testimonials if required. I found this experience incredibly fulfilling. The depth of understanding of each individual student`s thin is not one that can easily be achieved in a classroom setting
