I have been teaching Psychology since 2001 at several of the best performing sixth form colleges in the Greater Manchester area including Oldham Sixth Form college, Holy Cross College and Loreto College. These colleges were awarded grade 1 by OFSTED.
I am 40 years old, married, living in Didsbury, South Manchester. I gained my degree in Psychology in 2000. I began teaching in 2001 so have over 13 years of experience teaching Psychology. I also have extensive experience of working with students with a wide range of learning difficulties, particularly dyslexia.

I work part time so I am very flexible with lesson times. I offer tuition at my home, either at the weekend, weekday and evenings.

Experience: I feel that my greatest strengths tutoring are firstly my ability to build sound relationships with parents and pupils. Secondly my skill at gaining a clear understanding of a pupils exact needs, to motivate and build self-esteem, and thirdly my commitment to helping student access teaching materials in order to gain success .

I have successfully taught many students privately on a 1-2-1 basis at home. I have taught a mix of abilities and needs from students with special needs struggling to cope with traditional academic teaching to a Paralympian trying to find time to study while training. I have taught a number of privately educated students with dyslexia who benefited from being shown alternative ways to achieve success.

I have an incredibly strong track record of excellent results at GCSE & A Level Psychology. Marking for the exam board help me focus students learning and tailor their writing styles to achieve a high quality answer in exams.

Growing up as a dyslexic afforded me a unique insight into the importance of developing study skills that are essential in being able to access knowledge & build understanding. Due to being dyslexic I have been fortunate enough to develop strategies within my teaching to help student`s who may have difficulties in learning and breaking down barriers to learning which can effect one`s self-esteem and contribute to underachievement. I found this to be particularly true of students I have tutored privately both dyslexic and non - dyslexics.
