I am a native speaker of Russian, based in the UK. My approach to teaching Russian draws on my extensive experience of work as a researcher, consultant, lecturer and interpreter in the area of Russian government and business. I worked as a researcher, lecturer and consultant on UK and EU funded projects for twenty years before concentrating on language teaching since 2009.

I have experience in teaching Russian at all levels, from beginner to postgraduate, school students and adults, amateurs and professionals. I have taught GCSE and A level Russian for eleven years, with excellent results, A* in most cases.

My approach to teaching is both artistic and systematic, in the best Russian tradition, so that pupils` interest is maintained while they gain in knowledge and confidence.

I make extensive use of mixed media - press, video/DVDs, television, music, literature, academic and technical material (as required).

Learning about Russian culture is a feature of my teaching at all levels - including for students from Russian-speaking families living outside Russia.

Experience: I have taught Russian to adult learners for more than two decades, with syllabi and materials tailored to the individual`s needs, from beginners to advanced level.

I have taught Russian to groups in secondary school for eleven years. I have taught generations of pupils through GCSE. AS and A level exams. The vast majority of my students achieved A*.

The high rate of A* among my pupils for GCSE and A levels reflects the fact I have been trained in the design and methods of the Ecexcel syllabi and have made a thorough study of the exam criteria and requirements. I have also acted as examiner for others` students in GCSE and A level Russian exams.
