Initially A level mathematics disappointed me greatly having obtained the grade U across the board. The following year under the guidance of my father and maths teacher I managed to get an overall grade A in mathematics. I was happy not because success in education defines a person but merely the vast level of improvement. This was due not to working longer hours, rather working more effectively and efficiently.

It is with this in mind that I believe I can relay the same ideas to a student and help them obtain their desired grades, the study of mathematics isn’t necessarily more difficult than any other subject instead its due to the practice required that puts most students off. Without the tools to solve the puzzle a student remains lost, and unfortunately interprets this as their own lack of ability.

Currently a third year mathematics student at Queen Mary and having had discussions with students from Oxbridge and Imperial about the matter, the humble truth is that minus the 5% of people who are proven to have a IQ of over 150, not everyone studying this degree is a genius nor any smarter than anyone else, they simply know how to study the degree.

Due to the reasons mentioned I wished to help others via tutoring and not only motivate them but show them some of the tools required from my personal experiences.
