Information about Daniel
My name is Daniel. I am a hard working young student studying mathematics in my second year at the University of Manchester. I achieved 76% in my first year, showing a great understanding of the content as well as the ability to apply it to a wide range of problems.
I had a tutor myself during my A level studies where I achieved the grades AAA including maths and further maths. Having a tutor showed me the value of a one to one style of learning, and is my main inspiration for wanting to give back and offer any of the skills I have learned in my last few years of education.
I have sufficient teaching and social abilities due to my work experience as a teaching assistant and I am more than able to tailor my tutoring to the needs of the student. I would also stress that I encourage an informal, relaxed environment on first name terms. I am not a teacher I am simply a student studying at a higher level and I don`t request to be referred to as `Sir` or `Mr`.
Availability: Mid-afternoons to evenings on Mondays to Thursdays, occasional weekends. I can be flexible however, I only request that cancellations are made with a couple of hours notice minimum. I am also available via facebook for any short queries within reason, and I will attempt to help within 24 hours.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I spent 2-3 hours a week as a teaching assistant for ages 11-14 for a year and a half, as well as three weeks of full time teaching/teachers assistant for ages 11 through to A level classes.
I have had a tutor in the past and have learned a lot from that also.
