Information about Sam
Hi! I`m Sam - a part time writer and English literature and language tutor, providing bespoke tuition for Primary, GCSE and A level as well as applications for university.
Every session is tailored to the individual goals and needs of my students addressing their strengths and their weaknesses in order to secure the best results possible. I challenge my students and inspire them to apply the wide ranging real-world applications of both literature and language.
Communication is key!
My lessons are highly structured: literature can often be treated as a bit of a mystery - I break down preconceptions of the subject and get rid of any vague and "woolly" ideas, instead breaking down to my students exactly how to get the grades they need in their coursework or exam and focusing on interesting, lesser known interpretations of popular texts.
I use humor to bond with students, always in a way that is conducive to their own learning making the process as enjoyable, interesting and even as entertaining as possible. Fostering my student`s own desire to learn and increasing their own interest in literature is integral to developing and maintaining positive attitudes to learning.

Availability: I am available afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I am a Masters graduate from the London Film School and hold a First Class (Hons) BA in English with Creative writing from The University of Birmingham. Working part time as a screenwriter, I am signed to a large, London based agency with a couple of feature film projects in development.
I have been tutoring children for six years and pride myself on excellent results and the friendly tone of my classes along with excellent results. The majority of my students have improved on predicted grades by an average of two grade levels and many of the rest were A students already, looking to maximize their already high marks.
I have taught a wide variety of age groups and disciplines, including Key Stages 1-3, GCSE`s, A levels (arts based subjects), and university applications.
