Information about Colette
- LPC, College of Law: Distinction (2012)
- Law & European Legal Studies, University of Kent: First (2011)
I graduated with a First in Law and European Legal Studies (LLB) from the University of Kent. I achieved a first in the majority of my modules. My individual module grades include 82% in Employment Law (the highest in the year), 72% in Equity and Trusts and 70% in Criminal Law.
During the course of my degree, I achieved a distinction from the University of Vienna. I specialized in Human Rights law and I achieved a distinction for my dissertation on Article 1 of the ECHR. I then verbally presented this dissertation to the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture and Human Rights.
In 2012, I completed my LPC at the College of Law. I achieved a distinction overall and as well as in the majority of my modules, including Business law, Civil litigation, Employment and Personal Injury.
I am currently completing a training contract with a City law firm. I have a specialist interest in Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury and Employment law.
- Tuition in all the core LLB subjects (I achieved 2:1 or above in all) and optional courses of Tort, European Union Law, Human Rights, Family, Employment, Contract and Criminal.
- Tuition in all of the core LPC subjects (I achieved a merit or above in all) as well as optional courses of Family law, Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence and Employment.
- School level English Literature (A-Level or below) including course work.
I have found it successful to begin with an introductory session and spend some time discussing your aims, your objectives and your concerns. We can then work together to construct a timetable so that you can measure your achievements.
It is very important that the tutorials are tailored to your unique needs and your particular learning style. I will always aim to work through a topic of your choosing in an innovative and interesting way and there will be time to go through past exam questions together.
I have also found it useful to set some time aside to discuss potential revision and memory techniques. At the end of each tutorial, you will be confident that you have understood the content and that you will be able to apply what you have learnt in the exam.
I will produce revision guides and materials for use outside of the tutorial. I will also encourage you to attempt past exam papers in your own time and I will always provide feedback.
As a recent graduate,I fully understand how difficult and demanding exams can be. The goal of the tutorial will be to maximize your potential so that you will achieve the highest grades possible, in both your exams and coursework, whilst developing a real understanding of and passion for the subject.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch!
Availability: I am available to tutor over the weekend with prior notice.
I will be able to provide tuition on week nights after 6.30pm.
I prefer to provide tuition over Skype. By using Skype, I am able to maximize the amount of tuition provided and all materials will be provided via email as well as any notes or materials arising from the tutorial.
Willing to travel: 30 miles
Experience: I consider my first success story to be the two students who wanted to improve their grades in both English Literature and History. We prepared for the exams together and as they began to understand the subjects, they actually really started to enjoy them!
Despite being predicted grades E in both of the subjects, they both achieved A grades.
