Information about Rupert
Your child would be tutored by somebody who has been teaching and tutoring Maths to children in KS2,KS3 and KS4 since 2007. The content comes from the National Curriculum which coincides with subject matter needed for the 11+ and 13+ Maths related exams. I have an enhanced DBS and safe guarding certificate.
Your child would have sessions that are tailor made for them; focusing on the problems that they want ironed out.
All perspective clients have a FREE half hour initial consultation to discuss individual support that is needed. This ensures the first tutoring session is focused on academic work as opposed to just discussion.
Concepts are broken down for your child so they are more manageable and understandable.
Home work is set for your child who would be regularly assessed to ensure progress is being made
Students are shown what skills the students already have, and how they can turn to them for the tougher mathematical topics.
Going through exam technique is also an important part of the sessions. There is a focus on how to answer questions within the time that is needed, and how to decode what is being required.
Availability: Work 9-2 on Saturdays and Wednesdays after school 3-5:30, Thursdays I can start any time from 3-3:15 therefore finishing between 4-4:15 in the Northwood/ Pinner area. I can also do 5:30-6:30 on Thursdays if you are based in the Uxbridge area.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: Currently tutoring students from Hayden and Watford Grammer School for Boys
Have tutored GSCE students from Bishop Ramsey and Jon of Arc School
Also tutor one on one with students who are waiting to be placed in to new schools so in an interim stage of their education.
Taught children on the SEN register for issues such as Social, Emotional and Behaviour difficulties, ASD and ADHD. Others, though they do not have a SEN statement, have been school refusers and struggling with confidence issues.
My last GCSE students got a level 6 which is what they were aiming to get.
All my other students have moved up sets. One particular students has moved up two sets.
I understand what it means to be a constant and relaxed presence that has given struggling students confidence to complete a course they are undertaking, for example their Maths GCSE, and have something to show for it.

It`s early days but we are really happy with the way Rupert has engaged with our son. Rupert arrives on time and fully prepared for each lesson. He has quickly identified areas where our son needs support which were echoed by his school. Our son enjoys his time with Rupert and shows clear understanding at the end of each lesson which is a real positive.
